Well this class has come to an end .I for one have learnt a number of different things and are a little wiser for it. that html does not always work and that the net is a weird and wonderful place.

MPI104 assessment two

Due week 13

I have enjoyed this subject I learnt about a vast number of multimedia components and how to use them. It was also the first time that I have used the new apple Mac. I found it vastly different from a PC and that there is a big difference in there operating systems.

My BlogSpot

My blog site is call Vicki worlds, at first I was bit unsure as to what write about and what it was all about, but over the semester, I have learnt to update my blogspot. I have been to several other sites to check them out.
Most bloggers are groovy and have an attraction for a young people application. My BlogSpot is lots of fun. I like to change things around and try to update as much as possible. I did find it hard to insert picture. Ione problem I had was that no one visited my blog sorry one girl did.

Gmail
Gmail is very similar to hotmail. I like the fact that you can store documents on line. You had access to your blog and many other sites.


Google reader
Google reader is very interesting as you can look at news, sports and beading as I have on my page. There are many different links you can use and there not enough time to check them all out



Flickr
My flickr site is lots of fun I have sent links to family and friends. One comment that I had was that they had to get a login. I use this site in my youth at risk class we took picture and each student (10) joined the Flickr site.

Flickr is an online community in the form of an extremely popular picture sharing website, which allows you to upload up to 200 images on a free account

del.icio.us
Delicious is a website for saving and sharing bookmarks. It uses tags so that websites may be categorised and shared to other people who find them of interest.
I was a bit unsure of this site. This site was one that I felt you didn’t really go to a lot like the BlogSpot of your home page but I used it and update it

Athene
I found making a web page interesting I have never use Macs before my only problem was I only use PC and would most probable only use PC in the future. This is why I did my on Microsoft word .I know it’s not as good as Mac but my access to Macs are only on campus and I need time to do this page/pages

In computering, the File Transfer Protocol is a network protocol used to transfer data from one computer to another through a network,such as over the Internet, such as over the Internet

FTP is a file transfer protocol for exchanging files over any TCP/IP based network to manipulate files on another computer on that network regardless of which operating systems are involved (if the computers permit FTP access). There are many existing FTP client and server programs. FTP servers can be set up anywhere between game servers, voice servers, Internet hosts, and other physical servers.

What positives are there with FTP?

What are some of the negatives/ risks?

Time delay
IFTP is a high latency protocol due to the number of commands needed to initiate a transfer.

The original FTP specification is an inherently insecure method of transferring files because there is no method specified for transferring data in an encrypted fashion. This means that under most network configurations, user names, passwords, FTP commands and transferred file can be "sniffed" or viewed by anyone on the same network using a packet sniffer. 

How can these risks be minimised?

Many sites that run FTP servers enable anonymous ftp. Under this arrangement, users do not need an account on the server. The user name for anonymous access is typically 'anonymous', but historically 'ftp' was also used in the past; this account does not need a password.

File Service Protocol is a UDP-based replacement for the File Transfer Protocol, designed for anonymous access with lower hardware and network requirements than FTP. In particular, because it uses UDP, it avoids the problems that many FTP servers have had with requiring a separate process for each client, and because it is built to use an unreliable protocol, it can more easily handle resuming a transfer after a network failure

Is chivalry dead and buried.

Somewhere along the line, we got it pounded into our heads that chivalry and equality could not co-exist. But I think the analysts and social commentators who told us that, didn't have a thorough understanding of what chivalry really was. They saw an act of courtesy or deference and interpreted it as the result of a condescending attitude. What they missed was the respect and mutual admiration which such an act of chivalry conveys — if they had looked at chivalry from that angle, I suspect there never would have been any talk about its "death.

Chivalry is dead! ... Or maybe it isn’t. It depends on who you talk to.
